He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Wilkins and Betty Wilkins (Jones); his son Ben Wilkins; his brothers, Ronnie and Roger "Welcho" Wilkins; his brothers-in-law, Lew Lorenzini, George Schuler, Doug Dunaway and Marvin Torbeck; his father-in-law John Sweet; and his sister-in-law Nancy Heflin (Dennis Heflin).
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Wilkins; his son Rick (Toni Wilkins); his grandsons, Jonathon Wilkins, A. J. Wilkins, Mason Wilkins and Anthony Wilkins; his siblings, Barbara Lorenzini, Jackie Schuler, Ricky Kay Dunaway, Richard "Keebler" (Marcia Wilkins), Danny, Marsha (Jim Pritchard) of Altamont, Mary "Tina" Wilkins, Kevin Wilkins, Jay Dee (Linda Wilkins), Debbie Torbeck and Jeanette (Kerry Hodge); his mother-in-law Shirley Sweet; and his brother-in-law Tom Sweet. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Grace Church of the Nazarene (1900 N Broadway, Salem, IL 62881). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sleep in Heavenly Peace or Mission Salem and will be accepted at Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home, PO Box 97 / 310 N Broadway, Salem, Illinois 62881, 618-548-1234, who is honored to be of service to the family through difficult time.
