She was predeceased by: her parents, Almon Perry and Florence Perry (Osborn); her husband James G. Higdon; and her children, Sandra McGaughy and James Dean Higdon.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sheila Higdon, Sharon Wooldridge (Bill), Laura Krutsinger and Karen Putt (Christopher); her grandchildren, Jayme Thurmond, Bob McGaughy, Jessica McGaughy, Michael Thompson, Travis Thompson, Eric Krutsinger, Brooke Doyle and Kaylee Coleman; her brothers, Almon "Junior" Perry (Diane) and Terry Perry; and her son-in-law Bob McGaughy. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sutherland - Rankin Funeral Home (310 N Broadway, Salem, IL 62881). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Salem and will be accepted at the funeral home.
