With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alan Walter Schilling of Sandwich, Illinois, who passed away on May 28, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Alan Walter leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schilling and Dorothy Schilling (Petersen); and his sister Ruth Miller. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Schilling of Sandwich, IL; his children, Timothy Schilling of Earlville, IL, Theresa Morar (Joseph) of Big Rock, IL and Tina Altman (Don) of Sandwich, IL; and his brother-in-law Richard Miller. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (340 W Arnold St, Sandwich, IL 60548). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Cemetery (340 W Arnold St, Sandwich, IL 60548).
