He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sprague and Helen Sprague (Deisher); his sister Laurie; and his former wife Pamela Sprague. He is survived by: his children, Adam (Erin), Andrew (Margaret) and Amanda Sprague; his grandchildren, Annabelle Sprague, Connor, Riley and Madelyn Sprague; and his sister Jan Sprague-Williams.
