He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Narcissa Bond and Tom Wilkes Emanuel; his wife Cathy; his children, Tom Emanuel (Rebbecah), Kristen Emanuel of Seattle, Elizabeth Stuck (Lee) and Marcus Emanuel (Kyrsten) of Chicago; and his grandchildren, Max, Elliot, Harper, Malcolm, Oscar, Henry, Walter and Vivienne.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tom Emanuel Aviation Scholarship fund at Parkland College.
