He was predeceased by: his birth mother Cleone Davis (O'Neill); his father Stanley Davis; and his adoptive mother Marian Davis (Bohnsack). He is survived by: his wife Helene "Susie" Davis (Einsweiler); his children, Julie Schmitt (Dan), Susanne Davis, Sharon Winter, James Davis (Lori), Daniel Davis (Debra), Paula Crane (Brent) and Charles David Davis (Angela); and his sisters, Loretta Steichen, Bette Schoenholtz and Linda Lightcap (Greg). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, friends, the DFS cats, the neighborhood birds.
