With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alice MARY McAleavy (Schaumburg, Illinois), who passed away on February 1, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Hoban and Catherine Hoban; her husband Daniel McAleavy; and her siblings, Frank, John, Kathleen and Michael.
She is survived by: her brother Tony; her children, Kathleen Cortez (Alfonso), Mary Poulsen, Daniel McAleavy and Kevin McAleavy; her grandchildren, Shannon (Nick), Alexis (Trevor), Christian and Samantha; and her great grandchildren, Kylie and Aviana.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Matthew Catholic Church (1005 E Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194). The inurnment was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery (1185 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Shawl Ministry at the Holy Archangel Parish in Hoffman Estates.
