He was loved and cherished by many people including : his children, Breanna Garrett (Clifford), Ryan Jacobs (Nicholas) and Meghan Seipp (Ryan); his grandchildren, Emma, Liam Garrett, Maeve, Margaret and Rowan Jacobs; his siblings, Mary Murphy (Nancy), Kevin Murphy (Melissa) and Sean Murphy; his parents, Timothy and Mary; and also Kelly Murphy.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 20th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Gibbons Funeral Home (134 S York St, Elmhurst, IL 60126). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 20th 2024 at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162).
