He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Barla and Beatrice Barla (Belongie); and his grandson Brennan Barla. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Barla of Patrick's Church; his children, Michael Barla (Richard Leighton), David Barla (Amy), Brian Barla (Paula) and Denise Visco (Bob); his grandchildren, Jonah, Gabe, Emily, Abby, Maddy Barla, Hannah and William Boswell; and his brothers, Louis (Linda) and Richard Barla (Gayla). He is also survived by his 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (176 W Union St, Seneca, IL 61360). A Mass will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to St. Jude's, Seneca Park Board Little League, or the St. Pat's building fund in Seneca.
