He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Foster and Ruby Foster; his daughter Diane Sanderson (Annie); his brother Dean; and his sister-in-law Nancy Foster.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Walzer Foster; his sons, Chip Foster (Dea) of Maple Park, Charlie Foster (Patty) of Shabbona and Jerry Foster (Sue) of Shabbona; his son-in-law Daniel Sanderson of Malta; his grandchildren, Kyle Foster (Gresha), Brock Foster, Camden Foster (Kelli), Trevor Foster, Tyler Foster, Seth Sanderson (Lauren), Kalia Switzer (John) and Sara Hershey (Brandon); and his sister Carolyn. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital in Phil's memory.
