He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Head and Sarah Elizabeth Head Jr. (Williams); his wife Betty Irene Phillips; his siblings, Jim Head, Wilma Ruth McDermott, Eula Mae Berlin and Sarah Elizabeth Rich; and his grandson Bryan Head.

He is survived by: his sons, William David Head (Elizabeth) of Shawneetown, IL, Martin Curtis Head (Sandy) of Shawneetown, IL and James Kenneth Head (Laura) of Caitlin, IL; his grandchildren, Sarah Boots (Travis), Jennifer Head, Rebecca Kentner (Alex), Aaron Head (Lydia), James Stephen Head (Ashley) and Joseph Stacey; and his great grandchildren, Corrie Boots, Zoe, Eliza Kentner, Everett Kentner, Willow Head, Waylon Head, Dawson Stacy and Avery Stacey.
