With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eugene Dodd of Shawneetown, Illinois, who passed away on June 1, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Floyd Sr. and Agnes Pearl Dodd (Stewart); his former wife Doris F. "Tiny" Maynard; his son John Edward Dodd; and his siblings, Lloyd, John Dodd, Frances Dodd and Reetha Conners.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Dodd of Shawneetown; his children, Cheryl Dodd of Marion and Anthony Colt (Melissa Barton); and his siblings, Carmen Sipes of Benton, James Dodd Jr. of Carbondale, Lewis (Linda Dodd), Lewie (Brenda Dodd), Kay Gordon of West Frankfort and Lee (Debra Dodd). He is also survived by four grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vickery Funeral Chapel (274 W Marshall Ave, Shawneetown, IL 62984). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Honeycomb Church of God (99 Karbers Ridge Rd, Herod, IL 62947).
