With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elizabeth L. Horton of Sheffield, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 13, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Mahnesmith and Sophia Mahnesmith (VerStraete); her husband Max A. Horton, Sr.; and her son Mark A. Horton. She is survived by: her children, Max A. Horton, Jr. (Pamela) of Hope Mills, NC, Nathan R. "Rob" Horton of East Moline, IL, Jeynelle E. Johnston of Clinton, IL, Heidi M. Estes (Rick) of Lane, IL and Matthew A. "PJ" Horton (Patricia) of Germany; and her siblings, Roy Mahnesmith (Nancy) of Buda, IL, Fred Mahnesmith of Buda, IL and Garnafay Workheiser of Galesburg, IL.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.
