Daniel L. Helton Obituary

We are sad to announce that on December 4, 2025, Daniel L. Helton of Shelbyville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Helton; his brother-in-law David Fathauer; and his grandparents, Jesse Helton, June Helton Dort (John), Courtney McKittrick and Wintress McKittrick McConnell (Lawrence).

He is survived by: his mother Lois Aileen Helton (McKittrick) of Shelbyville; his children, Cortland Helton (Jaide) of Shelbyville, IL, Alexis Welton (Scott) of Shelbyville, IL and Cade Helton (Emmalee) of Shelbyville, IL; his fiancée Lori Rothrock; his fiancée's son Brett of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Marley Welton, Cooper Welton, Bella Helton and Ivey Helton; his siblings, Jesse Helton (Gwyn) of Shelbyville and Leslie Fathauer of Shelbyville; and his siblings' children, Justin Fathauer (Monica), Chelsea Wildman (Rodney), Zachary Helton, Aurora Poulos (Andrew), Bailee Shasteen (Cody), Brandy Mieldezis (Josh), Jordan Smith (Ryleigh) and Ricci Smith.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Howe and Yockey Funeral Home (415 N Broadway St, Shelbyville, IL 62565). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be given to Shelbyville High School for the Football Program.
