He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis M. McClain and Nannie McClain (Grant); his former wives, Mary J. Vukson and Mary J. McClain; his siblings, Emory, Glen, Herb, Carl McClain, Ruby Twitty, Velma Banasiewicz and Opal Lemmons; and his stepsiblings, Harrell Williams and Helen Lee.

He is survived by: his wife Lynda J. Norman; his children, Robert McClain (Julie) of Sullivan, IL, Ronald McClain (Brenda) of Findlay, IL, Rodney McClain (Michelle) of Findlay, IL, Patricia McClain of Arizona, Christine Cloyd (Ron) of Findlay, IL and Penny Brown (Bud) of Pana, IL; and his half-brother Ivan Willaims (Audrey) of Cerro Gordo, IL.. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight or Lincolnland Hospice.
