He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edward and Leoutis Craig Hapner; and his sister Mabel Gatons. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ann Dayhuff; his children, Marvin (Sherry) of Mode, IL, Sheila Cook (Gerald) of Shelbyville, IL, Carole Roley (Joe Anderson) of Shelbyville, IL and Terri Holland (Mike) of Shelbyville, IL; and his grandchildren, Kelly Jo Jones (Trent), Amanda Isley, Kaylee Yoder (Curt), Jessica Reed (Kris), Casey Schwenker, Maddie Holland and Mallory Holland. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Community Dialysis Center.
