He was predeceased by: his parents, James P. Reimer and Elizabeth "Ruth" Reimer (Barnes); and his sister Eileen Welsh (Arthur). He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Deborah A. Furr (Mike) of Shelbyville, IL, James Douglas "Doug" Reimer (Kari) of Chesterfield, MO, Dennis Michael Reimer (Theresa) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Donald Patrick Reimer (Corrin) of Shelbyville, IL and David Joseph Reimer (Dawn) of Shelbyville, IL; his grandchildren, James D. Reimer (Kelsey), Elizabeth Geier (Brandon), Jessica Shaw, Michael Reimer (Amanda), Blake Furr (Whitney), Sarah Shaw, Brett Ahlbrand (Morgan), Bryan Reimer, Kyle Reimer (Yulia), Amanda Reimer, Olivia Bolinger (Wil), Sophia Reimer and Stephanie Reimer; and his great grandchildren, Riley Furr, James Paul Reimer, Peyton Shaw and Julianna Reimer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
