With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Duane Poe of Shelbyville, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 19, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Berlyn Poe and Violet Poe (Fitzgerald); his daughter Melissa Jones; and his siblings, Edward Poe and Brenda McKinney.
He is survived by: his children, Julie Poe (Randy Grubaugh) of Shumway, Illinois, Tracy Gathe of Shelbyville, Illinois and Theron Poe of Gilbert, Arizona.; his grandchildren, Caleb Poe (Colby), Desiree Yeager, Tisha Niebrugge, Amanda Schaufler (Lee), Damion King (Felicia), Ashton Pietzman and Myah Gathe; his siblings, Robert Poe (Janet) of Teutopolis, Illinois, Michael Poe (Judy) of Effingham, Illinois and Terry Poe (Susan) of Effingham, Illinois; and his son-in-law David Jones of Newton. He is also survived by 17 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Meyer Funeral Home - Dieterich (307 E Center St, Dieterich, IL 62424). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Meyer Funeral Home (307 E Center St, Dieterich, IL 62424).
