It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth E. Elliott of Shelbyville, Illinois, who passed away on September 17, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ruth E. Elliott to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Granville Hodson and Maurine Hodson (Smith); her parents-in-law, Ben and Esther Elliott; her siblings, Kathaleen Licklider and Robert Hodson; her daughters-in-law, Linda Elliott and Susan Elliott; and her pet Banjo.

She is survived by : her husband Ralph "Deacon" Elliott; her children, Michael Elliott of Shelbyville, IL, Brenda Alward (Gary) of Moweaqua, IL and Gary Elliott of Sullivan, IL; her stepdaughters, Cindy Wortham of Mattoon, IL and Diana Hise of Mattoon, IL; her grandchildren, Shawn Elliott, Chad Elliott, Sarah Hernandez and Matthew Alward; her stepgrandsons, Erich Elliott and Donald Hise; and her sisters, Joan Banning of Shelbyville, IL, Emma Nelle Bates of Shelbyville, IL and Doris Soldner of Effingham, IL. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren; one great great grandson.
