With sadness, we share the passing of Thomas L. Rood of Shelbyville, Illinois. Thomas, born on September 26, 1951, passed away on September 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Esau and Alma Felicitas Rood (Capelle). He is survived by: his wife Jane Marie Gilomen; his children, Thomas J. Rood (Dana) of Oreana, IL and Lori Goodman (Aaron) of Monticello, IL; his brothers, James Rood (Shirley) of Troy, IL and Robert Rood (Pam) of Troy, IL; and his grandchildren, Katherine Goodman, Tyson Rood (Caitlyn), Holly Rood and Kylie Rood.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Howe and Yockey Funeral Home (415 N Broadway St, Shelbyville, IL 62565). A Mass was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (1431 IL-128, Shelbyville, IL 62565). A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Main Street School/Library Reading Program.
