He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William and Betty Jean Read (Woolen); his niece Rachel Sloan; and his great-nephew Thomas Lee Christen. He is survived by: his siblings, Wilma Vote of Decatur, IL, Phyllis Scroggins of Tucson, AZ, Linda Cole (Randy) of Wood River, IL, Joyce Read of Stewardson, IL, Larry Read of Conroe, TX and Becky Harrell (Wade) of Amarillo, TX. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Glenwood Cemetery (308 E North 6th St, Shelbyville, IL 62565).
