He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Thompson and Bertha Thompson; his wife Norma Jean Burgar; his son Michael D. Thompson; his siblings, Sylvia Coleman and Robert Thompson; and his granddaughter Lindsey Thompson Letz.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Thompson (Diane) of Sherman, Gregory Thompson (Susan) of Buffalo and Sandy Thompson Harris (Matt) of Warsaw, MO; and his grandchildren, Christopher Thompson (Ambriel) of Petersburg, Erica Christell (Thomas III) of Pleasant Plains, Stephanie Kalabus of Springfield and Amy Thompson of Dawson. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
