It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dixie Mae Alvies (Sherman, Illinois), born in Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Leo Glenn Alvies; her parents, Frank Lewis and Mable Barber Miller; and her siblings, Janice Yoakum, Ginger Doyle, Jim Lewis and Frankie Lewis.

She is survived by: her children, Jodie Edmonds (Chris) of Sherman and Blake Alvies of Springfield; her grandchildren, Kelsey Turasky (JT) of Sherman and Christopher Edmonds of Sherman; her great grandchildren, Miller and Meyers Turasky; and her siblings, Cindy Forshey and Tom Lewis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
