He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Maurer and Jesse Maurer (Brown); his wife JoAnne Pescitelli (Stroub); and his siblings, Jack Maurer, Rose Marie Wahmueller and Marilyn Haminde.
He is survived by: his son Michael Maurer (Carmen) of Chatham; his stepdaughter Karen Danner (Larry) of Riverton; his grandchildren, Michael Maurer of Virden and Jessica Maurer of Pawnee; his stepgrandchildren, Heidi Paruch (John) of St. Louis and Eric Danner (Sarah) of Springfield; his great grandchildren, Gavin, Piper, Peyton Paruch, Jacob, Evan Danner and Owen Lee Maurer; and his sister Georgian Hock. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
