We bid farewell to Magdalena Alicea of Shorewood, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 23, 2025 at the age of 90. Magdalena touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Eligio "Wilo" Alicea; her son Wilfredo Alicea; her parents, Lorenzo Morales and Josefa Morales; and her siblings, Radames Morales, Nerida Rivera (Leo) and Lorenzo Morales (Cadida).
She is survived by: her daughters, Madelin Barnes, Julie Barnes (Chuck), Milagros-Tatita Borrero (Frank) and Mari Lozada (Bengie); and her grandchildren, Bengito (Vanessa), Elliott (Vanessa), Daniel (Dixie), Vanessa, Christina, Melissa (Jamen), Salena (Bruce), Wilfredo "Pito" (Lauren), Magdalena "Pita", Antonio "Tony" and Chaz. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Farkas Funeral Home (3201 W Jefferson St, Joliet, IL 60431). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (600 Brook Forest Ave, Shorewood, IL 60404).
