He was predeceased by: his parents, Stan Gast and Clare Gast; his brother James Gast; his in-laws, George, Joleen Williams, Beverly and Tom Moretti; Terry Cotter.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Gast; his children, Melissa Rink (Hugh), David Gast (Christina) and Kristen Gast (Bryan Johnson); his adoptive son David Cotter; his grandchildren, Ava Doucette, Lauren Morgan, Jacob Rink, Maddie Rink and Nate Rink; his great grandchild Robbie Doucette; his sisters, Kathy Galle (late Denny) and Rita Russella (Charlie); his in-laws, Mary Lou Gast, Kay Langlois (late Darrell) and Dick Williams (Kathy); and his friend Chilly. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
