It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy D. Bartels Sr. of Shumway, Illinois, who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Roy Bartels and Virginia Mae Hutton; and his sister Sara Bartels. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Bartels; his sons, Roy Dean Bartels, Jr. of Stewardson and Jeremiah Bartels (Kamryn) of Shumway, Illinois; his grandchildren, McKenzi Bartels and Evelyn Bartels; and his sisters, Karen Anderson (Kevin) of Ottawa and Rose Bartels (Eric) of Stewardson, Illinois..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to Pagel Funeral Homes to offset funeral expenses.
