She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Habing and Clara Habing (Repking); her siblings, Anna Mae Gillespie (Stanley), Janet Flach (Francis), Pauletta Zimmerman (Richard), Rita Habing, Herman Habing, Norma Worman (Ambrose) and Geraldine Miller (Donald); and her brother-in-law Melvin Sieben.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph Swingler of Sigel; her daughter Judy Sass (Michael) of Forsyth; her grandchildren, Katelyn Sass of Chicago and Aaron Sass of St. Louis, MO; and her sisters, Elaine Sieben, Sr., Mary Barbara Habing and Marilyn Noonan (Dennis).
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 3rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home (1212 W Evergreen Ave, Effingham, IL 62401). A Mass was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (200 Church St, Sigel, IL 62462).
Memorial donations may be given to the St. Michael School.
