We announce the death of Gary C. Stoedter of Silvis, Illinois, who passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 82. Gary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Stoedter and Helen Stoedter (Hansen); his son Brian Stoedter; and his siblings, Betty Findley, Jack Stoedter, Jean Lance and Ralph Stoedter.
He is survived by: his wife Judy A. Evans of Silvis; his children, Gary Stoedter (Karla) of Yorkville, IL and Mindy Wakefield (James) of Silvis; his grandchildren, Courtney Awalt (Eric), Alexandria Weeks (Dustin), Autumn Stoedter, Devynn Wakefield, Jacob Stoedter and Samantha Stoedter; his great grandchildren, Adreanna, Wyatt, Owen, Zachery, Negan and Scarlett; and his sisters, June Hessell of East Moline and Joyce Gaddey (George) of East Moline. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Van Hoe Funeral Home (1500 6th St, East Moline, IL 61244). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Greenview Memorial Gardens (1201 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, IL 61244).
