With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James R. Piatt (Silvis, Illinois), who passed away on June 2, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Piatt and Iva Piatt (Armstrong); and his siblings, Carlene Hilt and John Piatt. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Kline; his sons, Richard Piatt (Nancy) of Urbandale, IA and Robert Piatt (Terry) of Springfield, TN; his sister Julene Leonard; his granddaughter Sarah DeHaan (Steve); his great grandchildren, Hannah, Isaiah, Leah and Elijah; his granddaughter Rebecca Gesink (Jonathan); his great grandchildren, Clay, Samuel, Noah and Matthew; his granddaughter Heather Kristan (Dan); his great grandchild Graham; his granddaughter Lynda Tewell (Joshua); his great grandchildren, Evelyn and Olivia; his grandson Owen Piatt (Shelby); his great grandchildren, Dani, Nora and Sonny; his grandson Cody Piatt (Claire); his great grandchild Jane; his grandson Cory Piatt (Jeanette); and his great grandchildren, Alice, Grace and Elias.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gibson - Bode Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd. - Port Byron (202 N Main St, Port Byron, IL 61275). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Rock Island National Cemetery (118 Rodman Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201).
Memorials may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church.
