With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ellen Kaplan (Skokie, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 6, 2025 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ellen Kaplan to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reuben Chensky and Lena Chensky; and her siblings, Florence Chensky and Bert Chensky (late Harriet). She is survived by: her spouse Sol Kaplan; her children, Larry Kaplan (Mariette), Leslie Holz and Steven Kaplan (Jill); her grandchildren, Garrett Kaplan, Chelsea Kaplan (Mike Perez), Morgan Kaplan, Bryce Kaplan, Ryan Holz (Stephanie), Marnie Holz, Evan Kaplan, Paige Randolph (Alex) and Courtney Kaplan (Richie Woodham); her great grandchildren, Maddy, Emily and Allie; and her sister Lois Platt.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Skokie Chapel - Under The (8851 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60077). A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Menorah Gardens Cemetery (2630 S 17th Ave, Broadview, IL 60153).
