He is survived by: his siblings, Thomas (Kathleen), James (Pat), Mary, John (Leticia) and Robert (late Catherine); his wife Margaret Meehan; his children, Amanda (Kyle), Sean, Katie (Kyle), Gerry Jr. and Colleen; and his grandchildren, Ella, Liam and Maeve.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Haben Funeral Home & Crematory (8057 Niles Center Rd, Skokie, IL 60077). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Peter & Lambert Catholic Parish (8100 Niles Center Rd, Skokie, IL 60077).
