It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Kistner of Smithton, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on December 18, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his wife Bonnie K.; his brother Gerald L. Kistner (Kathy); and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Kistner and David West. He is survived by : his children, John Kistner (Linda), Jeffrey Kistner (Janet), Penny Marks (Paul) and Cindy Beckmann (Jeffrey); his grandchildren, Matthew Kistner (Samantha), Jeffrey Kistner, Jonathan Kistner, Joshua Kistner (Lauren), Kayla Polacek (Andrew), Trey Marks, Lauren Marks, Megan Marks, Blake Beckmann and Hunter Beckmann; his great grandchildren, Maria, Caleb Kistner, Grady Polacek and Kennedy Kistner; and his siblings, Phyllis A. West, James E. Kistner, Marie Parrott (Dan) and Virginia L. Dorn (Joe). He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Henry's Parish or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
