He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Kieso (Flatt) and Lester Kieso; his sister Joan Robinson (Frank); his niece Susan Robinson; his brother Robert Kieso; his sister-in-law Joan Elbert; and his niece Jeanne Elbert.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Reichenbacher of U's Foundation; his children, Douglas Kieso and Debra Sondgeroth (Michael); his grandchildren, Morgan Akers (Shadoe), Cole Sondgeroth (Brittnee), Erin Sondgeroth-Heaton (Joshua) and Seth Kieso; his great grandchildren, Westyn, Stone, Tillie and Stella Akers; his sister-in-law Susan Kieso; his nieces and nephews, Karin Weigel (Dennis), Tom Robinson, Nathan Kieso and Maureen Garvey (Cullen); his great-nieces, Sydney, Kaylee, McKenzie and Chelsey Weigel; his nieces, Linda Elbert (Mike Amidei) and Melanie Buck; his great-nephews, Jonathan Elbert and Christopher Amidei; Steve Elbert.
