With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Brett P. Kunkel of Sorento, Illinois, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on March 29, 2026 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Kunkel and Roberta Kunkel; and his siblings, Beverly Kates and Berry Kunkel. He is survived by: his children, Aimee Baker (Thomas), Jaimee Joiner (Jared), Brittnee Kunkel and Emilee Kunkel; his grandchildren, Mason Schweppe (Claire), Kylee Carroll (Drew), Thomas Baker (Neveah), Carter Chapman, Lilee Joiner, Natalee Baker, Jackson Joiner, Emree Joiner, Carson Wolff, Miles Baker, Jace and Everlee Joiner; and his brothers, Blair Kunkel (Debbie), Brian Kunkel and Bart Kunkel (Pam). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
