He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mayer and Albina Mayer; and his siblings, Barbara and John Mayer (Carol). He is survived by: his wife Arlene; his children, William Mayer (Laura), Robert Mayer (Andree), Dawn Mayer, Sharon Kangail (Walt) and Lisa Coyne (Robert); his grandchildren, Kurt Mayer (Aneta), Kyle Mayer (Ariel), Nicholas Mayer (Nichole), Ryan Mayer, Annaliese Mayer, Stephanie Kangail, Daniel Kangail, Samantha Coyne, Michael Coyne and Robert Coyne; his great grandchildren, Stella Mayer, Scarlette Mayer, Grant Mayer and Baby DeCoste; and his daughter Georgia.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (330 W Golf Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60195). The lying in state will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (2515 W Palatine Rd, Inverness, IL 60067). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
