He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schlage and Catherine Schlage; his siblings, John, George, Mildred, Laverne and Dolores; and his son Richard Jr. Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Jeannine Schlage (Flournoy); his children, Dolores Austin (Randy), Darlene Farley (Greg), Denise Hansen and Dwight Schlage (Jam); and his stepchildren, Colleen Jancik (John), Sheri Hart (Rick), Debbie Courtney and Jim Cornforth (Margo). He is also survived by 32 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
