With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Tracy A. Appel of Sparta, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 18, 2025 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Appel and Betty Appel (Carlyle); and his in-laws, Robert, Annabelle Hamill and Elizabeth.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Hamill of Sparta; his children, Robert Appel (Dawnye) of Sparta and Bethany Peters (Christopher) of Sparta; his grandsons, Logan Neal Peters of Sparta, Robert Marshal Appel of Sparta, Darren Trace Appel of Sparta and Lucas Eugene Peters of Sparta; and his siblings, Bobby Appel (Joyce) of Columbia, TN, Karen Averbeck (David) of Marissa, IL, Lisa Meisinger (Greg) of Murfreesboro, TN, Carl Appel (June) of Cadiz, KY and William Hamill of Sparta. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilson's Funeral Home (509 W Illinois St, Steeleville, IL 62288). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
