Willis Gerlach Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willis Gerlach of Sparta, Illinois, who passed away on September 3, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund F. Gerlach and Alta Gerlach (Mines); his stepmother Alvina Gerlach (Moeller); his son Terry Gerlach; his siblings, Janet Shipp, James Gerlach, Donald Moeller and William Moeller; his brothers-in-law, Roger Marlow and Darroll Marlow; and his great-nieces, Jessica Gerlach and Kristine Trout (Moeller).
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his daughter Angela Sue Truluck (Randy); his grandchildren, Jerad Hoffmann (Stephanie), Bryan Jordan Hoffmann (Ottilie), Terry Ryan Gerlach (Andrea), Richard Caleb Gerlach (Autumn), Billie Gerlach (Haley), Marilyn Newport (Casey) and Heaven Sanderson (Josh); his stepgrandchildren, Jennie Martinsen, Jeremy Truluck and Kristen Schumacher; his sisters-in-law, Nellie Gerlach, Jeanette Moeller, Mary Helen Moeller and Ramona Hatch (Dustin); and his pet Maria. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Steeleville Baptist Church (1315 W Shawneetown Trail, Steeleville, IL 62288). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
