She is survived by: her children, Bert (Nanci), Michael Mertes and Julie Mertes-Schaeppi (William); and her grandchildren, Brandy Mertes, Zeb Mertes (Fafay), Zachary Mertes, Micah Schaeppi, Patti Gleichner (Pat) and Jenn Bakanov (Kosta). She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
