“I knew Bert for many years as members of the national guard. He was always soft spoken and kind to everyone with whom he had contact. I shared some off-duty time with Bert at his home with other guard members, enjoy some cook-out and libations. Bert was always generous with his time and his possessions. I wish I had more of his good qualities. He was a wonderful person and one I was proud to call a friend. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed.”
