Carolyn R. Sloan Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carolyn R. Sloan of Springfield, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 19, 2025 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carolyn R. Sloan to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer W. Meyer and Lucy E. Meyer (Curtis); and her husband Richard "Larry" Sloan. She is survived by: her daughter Sheila Harris of Springfield; her grandchildren, Braeden, Acacia, Cyndel and Takoda Harris; and her sisters, Eleanor Birch Gebhardt (Robert) of Springfield and Marilyn Egger (Auggie) of Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Elm Street Christian Church (3020 E Elm St, Springfield, IL 62702). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Old Stonington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Elm Street Christian Church, Stonington First Baptist Church or the Animal Protective League.
