He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil F. Kennedy and Beulah Stearns Kennedy; his daughter Dena Wassell; and his siblings, Oren Kennedy and Norma Jean Emmons.
He is survived by: his children, Craig Kennedy (Julie) of Springfield, Robert Kennedy (Linda) of Mt. Sterling, Rick Sidener of Kentucky and Cindy Sidener of Springfield; and his son-in-law Gary Wassell of Springfield. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children in St. Louis or to Children's Dyslexia Center for Valley of Springfield.
