It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cleo Bailey of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Cleo departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Cleo. Though Cleo may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris E. Thompson Bailey and Cleo Bailey; his sister Lisa Kay Bailey; and his grandfather William R. Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Doris J. Bailey; his children, Carl Jefferson (Tracy), Michael Wayne Johnson, Devon Bailey (Hannah) of Springfield, IL, Kaleena Green King (Malcolm) of Killeen, TX and Courtney Johnson (Terrence Conner) of Beaumont, TX; and his siblings, William "Tuffy" Thompson of Springfield and Sheila Bailey of Springfield. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
