He was predeceased by: his parents, Lula B. Sanders and Jack Collins; and his siblings, Rosie Snyder and Charles E. Sanders. He is survived by: his wife Novella Sanders; his children, Cassandra Cohen and Curtis Sanders Jr.; his siblings, Frank Sanders, Hattie Sanders, Tina Sanders, Faye Sanders and Cynthia Sanders; and his children, Darryl, Shelton, Rhonda, Christina and Nicole. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Union Baptist Church (1405 E Monroe St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
