He is survived by: his wife Lori; his former wife Kathy; his children, Matthew Smith (Sara) and Stephanie Natanek (Dan); his stepchildren, Andrew Landgrebe (Danielle), Christie Easton, Carlie Casson (Ryan) and Dan; his grandchildren, Nick, Zack, Aubriana, Ryleigh, Conner, Natalie, Carter, Olivia, Colson, Lillyanne, Rori and Eli; and his siblings, Dean Smith, Dale Smith, Dennis Cooley, Willis, Diane Smith, Joann Cargill and Bonnie. He is also survived by many extended family members and countless friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Butler Funeral Home- Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703).
