He was predeceased by: his father Don Smith. He is survived by: his mother Bette Jo Smith; his daughter Mercedes Caponigro (Larry); his grandson Lucca Caponigro; and his sisters, Grace Hughes (Kevin) and Amy Agnew (Jim).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Grandview Municipal Building (1620 N Milton Ave, Springfield, IL 62702).
