He was predeceased by: his parents, David N. Stanton Sr. and Jewel Stanton (Gray); and his brother Robert Everett Stanton. He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Schweder); his children, Cathy Holbrook (Tom) of Normal, IL and Robert Stanton (Robbin) of Springfield, IL; his sister Eileen Hirtler of Goodyear, AZ; and his grandchildren, Tim Holbrook (Sara Elsasser), Jeff Holbrook (Sophie), Tyler Stanton (Kate Fox), Taylor Stanton (Taylor Ann McElroy), Zoe Fisher, Chad Stults (Julie) and Kelsey Defevers (Chris Dunn). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
