Dixie L. Day Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dixie L. Day of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Dixie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Dixie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gene Smith and Marjorie Smith (Kaltschnee); and her spouse Gail Thomas Day. She is survived by: her children, Candy Wilson (Bret) and Jeff Day (Tracy); her grandchildren, Joel Day (Mary) and Jillian Day; and her sisters, Donna Sparrow (Jack) and Dianna Hankins (Doug). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
