He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Timothy and Mildred Reynolds Dodd; and his siblings, Arlo, Warren "Buddy" Dodd and DonnaYates.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Headrick; his children, Judy Johnson (Buck) of Springfield, Kevin Dodd (Susan) of Riverton, Tamie Esela (Mike) of Springfield, Debbie Knox (Terry) of New Berlin, Diana Massey (Larry) of Springfield and Denise Maxheimer (Darrell) of Rochester; his sisters, Sharon VanDyke of Springfield, Marlene Carraro of Springfield and Marsha Dodd of Metamora; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Harman of Springfield and Ruby Dodd of Fort Collins, CO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 4400 Clayton Avenue.
